Accomplishments

Accomplishments

  • Proud medal winners in 1997 and 1998, in two different international choral competitions in the RSA.
  • Went on first international tour to Germany and France in 2000
  • Participated in 2001 and 2002 respectively, in two prestigious Gala Concerts, with high-ranking South African Choirs.
  • Went on a successful concert tour of Galicia in Spain in 2003, and represented Namibia at the 12th World Gymnaestrada in Lisbon, Portugal.
  • Hosted two distinguished choirs’ youth choirs from abroad, namely in 2004: The Port Elizabeth University Choir and the Pro Cantu Youth Choir from South Africa.
  • Performed in Cape Town in 2005 through an invitation by the South African Choral Society.
  • Went on a successful concert tour of Alberta and British Columbia, in 2006, along with the Kokopelli Choir from Canada.
  • Celebrated the 10th Anniversary themed – The Past, Present and Future, and launched the DVD- Spirit of Namibia during December 2006.
  • Invited by the African Union to sing the AU Anthem its 10th Ordinary Session of the AU Heads of State Summit in January 2008.
  • Invited and participated in the Dresden International Children’s Choir Festival in Germany, May 2008. Successful concert tour to Ingolstadt, Dresden, Quedlingburg, Wennigsen, Hannover and Berlin.
  • Staged a musical titled The Wannabe at the National Theatre of Namibia in Windhoek and in Swakopmund as a part of the Bank Windhoek Arts Festival in 2008.
  • Proud winners of Imba Namibia 2009, a competition between invited top choirs in Namibia.
  • Staged a successful musical, Voete van ‘n Gemsbok as part of the annual Bank Windhoek Festival in 2010 at the National Theatre of Namibia in Windhoek and Swakopmund.
  • Hosted a successful reunion, in 2011, celebrating the 16 year anniversary of the choir.
  • 2011, staged a critically acclaimed production with Randall Wicomb titled Kalahari Krismis as part of the Bank Windhoek Kalahari Ensemble.
  • Launched the Ena Venter Choral Trust Fund, in 2012, to celebrate years of commitment, triumphs and transformation.
  • Staged a production, in 2012, titled The Cellist of Sarajevo as part of the Bank Windhoek Kalahari Ensemble.
  • Presented a successful annual showcase, in 2013, with the Friends of the Ena Venter Choral Trust association.
